do you mean the name of the "symbol layers"?

If yes I'm noticing another thing (on both linux and windows): no crashes, but clicking twice on the symbol layer name makes it editable, but then the name doesn't stick. If you duoble click it again the editable name is the one you choose previously and that didn't stick.

This can be reproduced with names of the "symbol layers" and with names of the "symbols" itself.

Doubleclick on name makes it editable, but changes are not saved. Doubleclick after editing on the same symbol/symbol layer causes QGIS to crash.
