Description
Currently when saving a layer to geopackage in 3.4.4 you are able to specify a description for the layer.
This seems like a really useful feature, but once the layer is saved the description is very difficult to access.
The layer properties in browser does display a "comment" in the metadata tab, but this does not contain the description - is there a way to put a comment in there?
The info tab in DB manager for the geopackage layer does not display the description - I think it should.
Opening the geopackage as spatialite in DB manager, opening gpkg_contents and viewing the table does allow the description to be viewed, so I can see it was saved correctly, but this seems too indirect a way to make use of the information.
Ideally I think it should be visible in the Layer Properties - Information dialogue for a geopackage layer in the project, and also in the properties of the layer (metadata tab) in browser or DB Manager.
It would be even better if it could be edited.
