Description
Would it be possible to add the ability to create a map window in print composer using a custom polygon?
This would greatly assist with strip maps, particularly when using aerial imagery, since the imagery can't be rotated on the canvas. The current workaround is to rotate the map window rather than the canvas but this doesn't work well for roads if on say a 45-degree angle on the canvas.
The feature would mean a window could be drawn at 45 degrees to capture the length of road, then rotated -45 / 45 degrees to provide a vertical/horizontal strip map on the page.
Thanks

Polygon maps would be quite useful, to draw the grid coordinates in the legend's corner. Making a layout as in the screenshot is currently a lot of work.
