Description

I first noticed the issue when clicking on the google hybrid base map layer. I thought the issue was the OpenLayer plug in so I un-installed and re-installed the plug in. Since that didn't work, I re-installed QGIS as well but the issue persisted. I then tried using a QuickMap plug and the program doesn't crash with Streets map but with the satellite map it does. I also noticed the program began to crash when adding any other raster layers.

Here is the report message I get when clicking on a raster layer I have on file but it seems to be the same as the one I get from the base maps plug ins:

Remove all the 3rd party plugins (better remove the entire .qgis2 folder), re-start qgis, re-install quick map services, try again add a raster (geotiff, wms, etc.). Do not use the Openlayers plugin. Let us know.
