Description
If a user opens an existing qgis project and looks up the symbology
properties of a layer, it is impossible to find out the symbol number
used for the symbology!
For example, I have opened a point layer that uses the following Font
marker (wingdings 2 font family): see image attached
I want to know the symbol number (I define symbol number as: for
character D the symbol number is 68) for this symbol since I wish to
re-use it in another software. There are 65k symbols in this font
marker – finding out what symbol number for this particular symbology
is like finding a needle in a haystack! It would be very
useful to have access to the symbol number, for example by hovering
the mouse over the symbol used and having the symbol number appear.
