Description
I think it is important to use the path based on 'favourites' (if set) as that is an active choise of mine and the cofusion brought to the wrong mapp can be avioded? I belive all add on makers need to know how to get this info - not sure they know up to today?
Another thing is why we can't be allowed to draw lines in the composer? We can draw triangels squares ... but not lines? Someone told me that is beyond what QGIS should do - I don't think so - a map is a map and what we do with it should be our secret in the composer ;-)

The first question is not really clear. Please rephrase it (the title as well) and I will reopen this ticket.
About the second: just draw an arrow, without the arrowhead.
