Bug report #8324

Text positioning: vertical align "top" interpreted as "cap"

Added by Andreas Neumann about 11 years ago. Updated about 11 years ago.

Description

When placing text, the vertical aligning has an unsupported value:
It seems that both "top" and "cap" are currently interpreted the same. The "Cap" value seems to work ok, whereas the "top" value is wrong.

This issue leads to inconsistent rendering if you exchange data with other GIS systems that also support these 5 vertical align values.

See attached picture with an explanation of the values.
