Description
A discussion on the german fossgis-user group revealed that generating raster previews slows down raster loading a lot. Esp. for VRT raster catalogs.
Settings -> Options -> Canvas and Legend -> Create Raster Icons (may be slow) should be set to off by default for new users.
Performance is more important than icons in the legend. The preview icons are too small for most cases anyway.
