Description

I tried to upload my plugin via http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/add/, but it gave the following error:

========
Error 500: internal application error.

An email message with all error details has been sent to our staff that will fix the issue ASAP. ========

I had ticked the 'experimental' box, and selected my plugin (zipped) using the file chooser. The plugin has been attached to this ticket.

Checking one of the other plugins listed here, it seems that the folder structure of the zip file was the problem. I had all the files in the base directory, instead of zipping the whole plugin directory. Working version attached for comparison.

It's not made clear that this is the required zip file format, so it should probably either be specified in the upload instructions, or the uploader should handle both formats.

AFAIK the zip format without folder name inside was never been supported and will never be.

If you find a place where documentation is lacking and could be improved, please fill the holes, unfortunately documentation quality is always lower than it should be.
