Non-blocking Database Manager dialogs

Description
Importing large datasets into a database table can sometimes take a long time, and the import dialog unfortunately blocks other windows (at least in macOS) even when QGIS is minimized or behind in the window stack. Perhaps it makes sense for some dialogs to block in this way, but I'd like at least an option to set all dialogs to non-blocking when QGIS is not the active desktop window.
