Description
Hi, here's how to reproduce it in qgis master:
- Add this WMS server to browser: http://webapps.comune.trento.it/ogc
- Add any WMS layer
- See the error in message log. FORMAT value is empty.
If you add it with the normal menu Layer->Add WMS, it works perfectly.

The GetCapabilities response is apparently flawed (and invalid). It doesn't list the GetMap request and in turn there are no formats for GetMap.

Error XSDError in http://webapps.comune.trento.it/ogc?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities, at line 31, column 126: Element {http://www.opengis.net/wms}Request is missing child element.

Thank you for your good response.
We discovered that in our mapserver mapfile, the wms_enable_request in the WEB section was absent.
Closing as WORKSFORME.
