Layer styling Mesh layer does not respond to change of Color ramp (first time)

Description
To reproduce:
- load an nc file
- make sure the Layer Styling panel is visible in QGIS
- after loading the nc file (and seeing it in default Color ramp)
- use the little dropdown arrow to the right to change it to another (predefined) ramp
- the classes/colors do NOT change
BUT: if you click the 'Load' button once, the new color ramp is used
AND after that changing of the color ramp KEEPS working as expected
