Description
My idea was a snappable GIS ruler, illustrated in the attachment, which you could snap within a project workspace that could be pulled down from the top or side of the workspace to make all mapping easier? Snapping to the intersection of the ruler would also need to be inbuilt as well as snapping the rulers to snap layers when pulling them in. This will let us set string lines essentially which we can use in a GIS environment such as mapping walls, rooms, and placing features in straight lines.
Consideration for the rulers when project rotation is in place should be given as some LGAs are on angles and NSEW Directions may not suffice depending on their orientation.
Oh and I think our council would be happy to contribute toward this tools creation too, would anyone else?
Also, have any LGA's successfully donated to QGIS, If so, I'd love to hear from them!!!
