Redmine Feature request #21825 (Open): value relation widget having both a parent key value and a child k...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/218252019-04-10T12:37:51ZRobin Rotsaertrobin.rotsaert@limburgs-landschap.be

when setting up drive down cascades with the value relation widget things get quite complicated when one wants to set up a "multiple-step drive down cascade" (value in field A affects the drop-down of field B, value of field B on his turn affects the drop-dwon of field C), especially when there is overlap between groups (a value in field C can be child of several values in field B)

the problem, in my view, is that the key column for field B acts both as parent reference and as child reference

I found a workaround using the filter expression
NOT regexp_match("foreign_key",current_value('parent_field'))=0
combined with some complex values in the key-field, but as the list of values gets longer the key-values one has to invent get more complex as well + this way of working is not straightforward at all
Feature request #21719 (Open): trace/streamline visualisation https://issues.qgis.org/issues/217192019-04-01T07:36:26ZPeter Petrikpeter.petrik@lutraconsulting.co.uk

use variable in layer source

We using qGis layer and can not use variable in source. We would use this feature for authentication.
User can add project variables and then this variables can be used in layer source (connection)

Example
dbname='pvz1' host=biomon.com port=5432 user=@user password=@password sslmode=disable key='pkuid' srid=3346 type=Point table="public"."dirvinis_sejikas" (geometrija) sql=
Feature request #17522 (Open): when opening a layer from geopackage use the sld format if qml for...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/175222017-11-22T17:31:11Zpaul van genuchtengenuchten@yahoo.com

qgis 2.18 now has an option to store style on a geopackage, when opening a layer from geopackage this style is used to apply by default
the style is stored in qml and sld, would be good to fall back to the sld style if the qml format is not available
this use case occurs when the layer_styles table is filled by an external application (like geocat bridge) when exporting a geopackage from an application which is not qml aware
Feature request #17474 (Open): when opening qgis by clicking gpkg -> open with qgis use projectin...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/174742017-11-15T20:57:15Zpaul van genuchtengenuchten@yahoo.com

The qgpkg extension allows to store project data (context/styling) as part of a geopackage, people may want to click such a file and qgis opens with that file opened.

In 2.18 it is already possible to right click a gpkg, select open with qgis, and then start qgis with that file opened

However the qgpkg project info is not used.

Maybe this feature requires some aspects of qgpkg should be moved to core or is there an option to delegate opening the gpkg file to the plugin, if the plugin is installed and project info is detected.
Feature request #17241 (Open): use a selection as input for a Query Builderhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/172412017-10-04T02:00:27ZMike Cusimike.cusi@outlook.com

I would like to be able to use my current selection to create a filter I can use in query builder to display only the selected records/features.
Feature request #14679 (Open): travis tested git branchhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/146792016-04-13T21:15:39ZPiers van der Torren

Hello all,
I recently started coding a bit for QGIS, and have noticed the master branch quite often fails to pass tests.

It's wonderful that there is continuous testing, so it is possible to pull the master and reset to a commit that has passed testing by manually looking at https://travis-ci.org/qgis/QGIS/builds and get latest one that passed. However it would be nice if it was easier to access tested code, especially for people who just start developing or for another reason want to build from the master.

The easiest I can come up with is a branch that follows master, and is automatically updated every time a travis build passes to point to that commit. That way it would be easier for new people to find and less work for existing developers to get up to date with the latest tested code. It could be named 'master_tested' or 'passed_tests' or something (nice detail if it sorts above the release branches).

There might be other solutions but this would at least be easy to implement, either as a separate script running somewhere, or in the travis script itself.
Feature request #14099 (Open): toggle button for labeling in toolbar or elsehttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/140992016-01-13T09:30:42Zjohan sandersjohans3105@gmail.com

it would be very usefull to have a simple toggle button (1 click) in a toolbar in order to switch on/off labeling for the currently selected layer

with the current setting (qgis2.12) one needs at least 4 clicks/actions in order to toggle a label onj/off
Feature request #10825 (Open): wheel zoom using predefined scaleshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/108252014-07-06T08:58:48ZKalle Kronholmkalle@kronholm.cc

I have background maps from tile-services. These only look nice at predifined zoom-levels, which I have set in the "options" under "predifined scales". I can change the zoom-behaviour of my mouse-wheel in "options". There, under "mouse wheel action", I suggest an option where the wheel scrolls through the predefined scales.
Feature request #10743 (Open): wavelength support for hyperspectral imageshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/107432014-06-27T06:42:46ZBryan Karpowiczbkarpowicz@neoninc.org

When loading a hyperspectral image currently qgis will load the first three bands. It would be extremely useful if it could load some default color schemes like "true color", or "color infrared".
Feature request #10266 (Open): transportation network managementhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/102662014-05-14T10:02:42ZMRick -

There was a QGIS plugin developed by a French company that allowed transportation networks management, but development as ceased and there was no update for 3 years. It will work only with QGIS 1.0 … But since it is open source, maybe the code could be useful? Plus it respects French transits norms of classifications.
https://github.com/Potimart/Potimart

Would it be possible to use this as a base to develop a plugin or a QGIS feature to be able to manage transportation networks from it?
I know there is a lot of demand from users to be able to manage transits directly from QGIS, a feature which unavailable actually.
Feature request #8913 (Open): tools algorithms transparencyhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/89132013-10-18T16:25:17ZYannick Portier

Currently, vproj GRASS module is difficult to use: the user has to manually enter layer, mapset, location and gisdbase for the origin layer. We suggest to change this, allowing only loaded layers to be reprojected; in this way no user input is required.
The current problem preventing us to implement this is that loaded vectors do not appear in the dropdown menu
Feature request #1630 (Open): v.db.addcol: checkbox for data typehttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/16302009-04-05T08:52:47ZPaolo Cavallinicavallini@faunalia.it

In current v.db.addcol, the user has to insert the type (integer, double precision, varchar) of the column by hand. Please replace this with a checkbox
Feature request #1627 (Open): v.distance, v.to.db: add data to vector table as new column, not re...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/16272009-04-04T23:45:14ZPaolo Cavallinicavallini@faunalia.it

For modules that add data to a table (e.g. v.distance, v.to.db), it would be useful to add data to a new column (incorporating db.addcol), instead of overwriting an existing column.
