We discussed a possible workaround in http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-developer/2010-May/009825.html, but as the solution does not seem very clean I hope to address the problem as part of some other pending changes to the georeferencer.

Moving back to 1.6 for now.
QGIS Application - Bug report #2465: Georeferencer: does not correctly handle files with existing georeferencing informationhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/2465?journal_id=250842011-06-26T09:32:54ZLuiz Mottamotta.luiz@gmail.com
