<p>Current_copy and paste result.png : shows the current behaviour of QGIS. Although I have never got this right. QGIS is picky about field type, field length and all the time, I end up with NULL for the pasted features</p>
<p>Proposed_copy and paste result using field mapper.png: Shows the proposed behaviour, where user has mapped Officer field from the source layer to Name field in the target layer.
