<p>that is already fixed in master (testes both on Linux and Windows/Osgeo4w).</p>

<p>The problem is: when there is a label established, by adding a new column the value of layer property "Label this layer with" is lost.</p>

<p>I think not.</p>
<p>I guess:</p>
<p>2.3.0-25 revision d62a498 corresponds to this commit:<br /> <a class="external" href="https://issues.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/repository/revisions/d62a49810e6117d3b3815c9c2367f7ac745f054b">https://issues.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/repository/revisions/d62a49810e6117d3b3815c9c2367f7ac745f054b</a><br />because match the number <strong>d62a498</strong> and date <strong>2014-06-23 00:31</strong>.</p>
<p>If so, the change that you mention from <a class="issue tracker-1 status-5 priority-10 priority- closed" href="https://issues.qgis.org/issues/10451" title="Newly created columns are not available for symbology or labelling (Closed)">#10451</a> is older:<br /> <a class="external" href="https://issues.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/repository/revisions/9019805b446661d41db270c5a86a41ae6474b51e">https://issues.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/repository/revisions/9019805b446661d41db270c5a86a41ae6474b51e</a><br />and it's included in 2.3.0-25 revision d62a498.</p>
<p>And the ticket <a class="issue tracker-1 status-5 priority-10 priority- closed" href="https://issues.qgis.org/issues/10451" title="Newly created columns are not available for symbology or labelling (Closed)">#10451</a> says:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>create a new column, eventually fill it with values. Then try use this column for labels or symbology, it does not show in the dropdowns.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>and this works fine using 2.3.0-25 revision d62a498.</p> QGIS Application - Bug report #10703: After adding a column the attribute defined for labels is unselected.https://issues.qgis.org/issues/10703?journal_id=532672014-06-24T12:08:28ZJürgen Fischerjef@norbit.de
