Redmine QGIS Application - Feature request #15413 (Open): Show printing boundary in Composerhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/154132016-08-10T00:34:58ZEvgeniy Zjohnzet@yandex.ru

It would be great if printing boundaries would be displayed in the composer in accordance with the selected printer. Just as it is implemented in ArcView 3.2 for example.
QGIS Application - Feature request #13622 (Open): Create the possibility to make attribute querie...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/136222015-10-16T04:13:57ZLuiz Andradelcoandrade@gmail.com

Dear all, I'm a Brazilian Army Officer and our Geographic Service Bureau is adopting QGIS as our corporate GIS solution.
Brazil has a national vectorial geospatial data structure, called EDGV, and almost all features in that structure use mapped values. To deal with that the Brazilian Army has developed the plugin DSGTools (http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/DsgTools/). The plugin uses QML files to map the values and make feature creation easier to our user but we need to make queries and the default QgsExpressionBuilderWidget doesn't allow us to use mapped values. We want the user to be able to build queries using the keys present in our QML files.

For instance, today we make the following query:
"geometriaaproximada" = 1

But we want to able to build this:
"geometriaaproximada" = Yes (easier to our user to understand what he/she is actually querying)
QGIS Application - Feature request #13465 (Open): Identify Results panel : clicking on "Clear res...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/134652015-09-30T05:57:24ZHarrissou Santanna

When you've features highlighted in the GUI, you can change "unhighlight" them with the "Clear results" tool in the "Identify results" panel. This works only and only if none of the features has its form opened. Otherwise opened form features will be kept highlighted (which is useless since there's AFAICS no stable way to know to which feature belongs each form). If you have opened many forms, then the only solution you have is to find and close each attribute's form(s). A little boring.

Since clicking on the "Clear results" button means that I don't want features highlighted, I think it should also close all the forms opened.
QGIS Application - Feature request #13283 (Feedback): Relative paths to files and photoshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/132832015-08-30T04:38:13Zdidier peeters

Although there is a setting in the project properties stating that relative paths must be used, it is not possible for photos or files, like in the forms widgets.
This is not consistent (relative paths can be used for resources like svg's for example) and seems to be a rather common problem in QGis, according to other open tickets. This is especially a difficulty when sharing a project between several users.
QGIS Application - Feature request #12058 (Open): Function Editor in Expression widget : a button...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/120582015-01-26T03:00:27ZHarrissou Santanna

Hi all,
i stumble over 2 Issues editing Attributes:

First:
Step 1: I create a new Shapefile, then add 2 attribute columns (Type String, one length 50 and one length 5).
Step 2: Then I add a Feature to the Shapefile and set the first attribute to "First Value". Now I calculate the second one using the field calculator and set the second column = first column. Result: "First Value" ist written into the 2. column but I think it should be cut at Position 5 to "First"... It seems that the field length get automaticaly extended to the length of the first field.

Second:
If I fill in a 50 chars Text containing one "ä" or a "ö" or a "ü" (german special characters) to Field 1, and then save it, close Qgis, reopen it and load the shapefile into Qgis again then the length of Field 1 is extended to 51.
Thanks
Peter
QGIS Application - Bug report #10263 (Open): Freeze using "Select By Location" (or the spatial qu...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/102632014-05-14T00:01:37ZNeil Bennyneil.benny@thinkwhere.com

Using QGIS 2.2 (tested in current nightly build of 2.3). 32bit version (replicated issue in 64bit version).

QGIS goes slow, then crashes when doing a "select by location" on points inside a polygon when using a very complex polygon. This is an issue with flooding data in the way it is provided by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (single polygon converted from a raster - very complex - see attached).

I had thought this problem had been solved in the new release, but we have the same issue as laid out before.

The data in the zip file attached seems to cause the problem - it is one of the pieces of flood data and some OSM data (I can't include the original dataset because it is a secure dataset to do with vulnerable people). Both files are in British National Grid 27700.

When the "Select by Location" analysis is run, the window remains open and hangs, it doesn't crash, but it has been left overnight processing and has not completed. When you try and cancel the operation, QGIS crashes entirely.
QGIS Application - Bug report #10137 (Open): Processing stripping out +towgs paramshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/101372014-04-29T03:11:49ZPaolo Cavallinicavallini@faunalia.it

Apparently Processing, during the analyses starting from layers in a CRS with +towgs parameters (e.g. 23030) creates outputs with a similar projection, but without the parameters; a custom CRS is thus created, and the output does not align with the input.
This happens at least with GRASS and R backends.
QGIS Application - Feature request #9737 (Open): Partial canvas redrawhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/97372014-03-07T00:58:46ZPer Gammerathgammerath@gmail.com

When panning a map, Qgis blanks and redraws the entire canvas. I think this is a big issue, as the user looses all sense of track with the map. MapInfo only redraws the new canvas area while retaining the panned area. That is a much better transition, and probably faster.
I hope that this issue is not reduced to low priority, because zooming and panning in Qgis is really a weak spot that would compel some to give up on Qgis. At my work, I replaced MapInfo with Qgis on my colleagues computers, and the most significant feedback I got was the low speed canvas handling, thus loss of track.
QGIS Application - Feature request #7706 (Open): Geometry constructors (EWKT/EWKB)https://issues.qgis.org/issues/77062013-04-25T06:35:55ZDenis Rouzauddenis.rouzaud@gmail.com

Right now, only WKT/WKB can be used to import/export geometries.

It would be great to have EWKT and EWKB import/export methods, to avoid complex stuff as in [0]

One of the most common tasks a user can do in a raster workflow is to reclassify raster maps.

At this stage the raster calculator does not support conditional statements, so it is not possible to say (for example):

(ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1<=30)=1 OR (ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1>30)=2 OR (ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1>200)=5

the workaround is awful

(ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1<=30)*1 + (ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1>30)*2 + (ASTGTM2_N37W026_dem@1>200)*3

as the raster calc just return 1 or 0, so the user must multiply for the needed value doing also a few sums along the way (because it is not possible to use conditions).
QGIS Application - Feature request #7235 (Open): Add option to avoid users producing invalid topo...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/72352013-02-25T07:27:11ZDuncan Golicherdgolicher@gmail.com

Attempts to remove intersections when digitising over invalid topologies lead to unexpected behaviour. See bug #7225 and related issues. The problem also extends to snapping and hole removal (bug <a class="issue tracker-1 status-5 priority-4 priority- closed" href="https://issues.qgis.org/issues/4880" title=""add feature" tool (for polygons) + "avoid intersection" is inconsistent when it is used to fill ... (Closed)">#4880).
It would probably be safer overall if users were digitising with an option switched on that rejected all invalid polygons. If they do draw an invalid polygon they could be provided with a warning message, the invalid vertices marked, and the offending polygon would not be added to the layer until all the errors are fixed. This could be a default option as it would probably prevent users from forcing QGIS to run code that may have difficulty finding consistent ways of dealing with errors. The option to deactivate the checks should be provided, along with a clear warning of the possible consequences of doing so.
QGIS Application - Feature request #7145 (Open): Show layer groups in "identifiable layers" and "...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/71452013-02-11T04:48:57ZGiovanni Manghigiovanni.manghi@gmail.com

On large projects the layers are very often organized in groups.

So when you open "identifiable layers" if groups are not shown you see a very long list of layers, and detecting what is to be checked and what not is very hard.

ideally in this panel the structure of the TOC should be replicated.
QGIS Application - Feature request #6894 (In Progress): GRASS r.mapcalc cumbersome to use, issues...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/68942012-12-18T08:56:38ZPedro Venânciopedrongvenancio@gmail.com

Hi,

I think it's very important to include GRASS r.mapcalc on Sextante. At this moment, is lacking on Sextante an advanced raster calculator, with the potential of r.mapcalc (with advanced operators and functions).
http://grass.osgeo.org/grass64/manuals/r.mapcalc.html

Is there any limitation that prevents the inclusion of this tool? Right now it seems to me the biggest absence on Sextante.

Thanks!
QGIS Application - Feature request #6255 (Feedback): Add button to force recalculating stats of r...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/62552012-08-27T04:27:53Zalobo -aloboaleu@gmail.com

Currently QGIS relies on mean and sd values on the
GTif if present for stretching based on sd. Sometimes
this information can be wrong and gdalinfo -stats does
not force recalculating stats (see #5035).
The user should be able to force QGIS recalculating stats,
probably a button in Properties/Style would be a good option
