I was incidentally trying to install a QGIS Standalone Installer Version 3.6 (64 bit) on a 32 bit Win OS, which seemed to work, but gave a restart of the system at the end and left the start menu only with Grass Shortcuts. Starting C:\Program Files\QGIS 3.6\bin\qgis-bin-g7.exe manually finally gave the message that explained everything: wrong OS. It would be perfect if that bit of code could be copied to the install routine, thus preventing user misbehaviour ;-)
Thank you in advance, it's great to watch QGIS growing and getting better all the time!
QGIS Application - Feature request #20208 (Open): GUI translations in Transifexhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/202082018-10-24T12:07:00Zstefano campusskampus@gmail.com

The actual policy of GUI translation is to keep in Transifex only the Master version of QGIS.
I think that for translators should be better to have two version of Transifex translation:

1) QGIS Master version
2) QGIS LTR version

This choice will help the work of translators because in LTR there are not new strings.
QGIS Application - Feature request #19187 (Open): Make search more inclusive for special characte...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/191872018-06-13T16:57:01ZCarolyn Krausecarolynkrause3@gmail.com

This request is inspired by this question on GIS Stackexchange: https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/285895/georeference-option-not-visible-in-qgis-3-0-for-french-version

To summarize, the asker was unable to find the Georeferencer GDAL plugin in the French language version of QGIS. They searched the plugin manager for "georef" but the search results didn't find the plugin, because the French name (Géoréférenceur GDAL) contains accented letters.

Feature Request: Make searching more inclusive of accented letters (é, è, à, etc). Eg, searching for "georef" would yield results including "géoréf" or "gèorèf."
QGIS Application - Feature request #16576 (Open): Plugin installation for all domain-usershttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/165762017-05-18T21:02:39ZYannick Günthercip@giub.uni-bonn.de

Hello,
while trying to install plugins (in this case the semi-automatic-classification plugin) for machines in a computer pool (win 10 x64 environment), it was not possible to install plugins for all domain-users respectively as an admin. Is it generally possible? I am not exactly versed in the mechanics of functioning concerning QGIS and it's plugins, but in my growing distress i decided to approach you with this problem. The users have to re-install the plugin every time they access the machine. Do you have any ideas? The version is QGIS 2.18.4.

Thank you very much for your advice,
best regards
QGIS Application - Feature request #6247 (Open): External HTML img maptipshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/62472012-08-24T06:52:55ZRocco Pispicor.pispico@gmail.com

It would be nice for items in the composer legend to inherit the font properties that are used in the map canvas. This could be optional, perhaps a check item in the legend options. E.g., a point layer might have ng labels with Helvetica font size 10, italics, and purple with a yellow buffer in the map canvas. The legend item for that layer would also be size 10, italics, Helvetica and purple with a yellow buffer.
QGIS Application - Feature request #3619 (Open): [FEATURE] Extended tooltips for tool barshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/36192011-03-15T02:22:41ZNathan Woodrow

Attached is a patch that I have been working on that adds more information to most tool tips to explain what the tool does. I think this would be good for new users to qgis. See image for example.

Currently proxies can be excluded on a case by case basis, and groups of addresses can be reached directly. The criterion for exclusion seems however based on the first characters (myurl*). It would seem very useful to have the possibility of defining addresses based on the last characters (*myurl.it).
QGIS Application - Feature request #3068 (Feedback): Projection information – some handbook or mo...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/30682010-09-30T03:38:32ZJhelebrant -Jhelebrant@foo.bar

Hi,
I had a small problem related with projection. I knew, that I should convert my data in WGS84 to S-42 (Pulkovo 1942) for some reason (use with some exotic software) but in QGIS I found a lot of "Pulkovo" projection and did not know which one to use for my area (Czech Republic). I did not have any internet connection available but luckily remembered, that in Kosmo I saw some info about area used for particular projections and later found there which "Pulkovo" is determined for Czech Republic. So this takes me to the idea, that it would be nice to have similar info also in QGIS (could be solved as "bubble" help) or if there is any document or app where is possible to find this information.

The possibility to list projections used for selected area would be also nice, but I cannot have everything I want :-)

What do you think?

PS: as an inspiration I attached two screenshots of Kosmo layer projection dialog where you can see additional information for each projection.
QGIS Application - Feature request #2786 (Open): Live GPS tracking: add support for garmin USB de...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/27862010-06-04T10:00:21Zdr -

Any layer

Start editing, select editing nodes tool, click on object - nodes show up

Switch to zoom - nodes disappear

So need to zoom, select tool, click on object, zoom ....etc. Rather inconvinient!

Note that if object is selected, nodes don't dissappear, so may be we need to select object when clicked with node editing tool, so navigating will note loose node view.
QGIS Application - Feature request #1813 (Open): Support for WFS with NTLM authenticationhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/18132009-07-28T04:43:36ZMarkus Neteler

Currently, QGIS seems to be unable to connect to WFS servers with NTLM authentication.

We have discovered that the Mapserver project has already implemented such support some time ago. Here the patch with might be helpful for a similar implementation in QGIS:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapserver/ticket/571

Our WFS server address for testing (we can offer the user/password to test an implementation in QGIS if needed):
http://sit.geographics.eu/arcgis/services/CREV/WFS_1/MapServer/WFSServer
