Redmine QGIS Application - Feature request #8520 (Open): data defined symbol levelshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/85202013-08-27T07:11:29ZGavin Fleminggavin@kartoza.com

many styling parameters can be data defined. It would be really useful to be able to data-define symbol levels as well (as in z-levels) so that things like bridges and tunnels can be styled properly
QGIS Application - Feature request #6588 (Open): Raster Calculator - Columns and Rowshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/65882012-10-31T02:26:07ZJonathan Moules

Using Raster Calculator, I changed the bounding box coordinates so that it would only do a small subset of the data. I expected it to automatically change the "columns" and "rows" parameters, but it didn't. I left it on the defaults and ended up with a 5GB file when the input extent was only about 1MB worth of data.

I consider this a bug because how is the user supposed to know the value for Columns/Rows when using a subset but appreciate its probably a "feature request"? In these cirumstances it should automatically recalculate.
QGIS Application - Feature request #6587 (Open): "Current Visible Extent" for Raster calculatorhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/65872012-10-31T02:15:44ZJonathan Moules

The Raster Calculator has a "current layer extent" button to allow easy creation of correctly sized rasters.

My suggestion is to add another button: "Current Visible Extent" which when clicked will fill in the bounds etc for the current visible extent.
QGIS Application - Feature request #3179 (Open): File Filter on load dialogshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/31792010-11-01T09:33:32ZAlex Mandeltech@wildintellect.com

Seems like there's a need for a file filter that is the concatenation of the providers available. So that the default vector filter is "All Vector Formats" which is different from All Files ().
For example: (.shp,*.kml,*.gml)

Would make it much easier to browse through your files looking for layers to add which might be a mix of formats. It wouldn't actually matter to me if the menu remembered my choice if it always went back to this generic option to start.

This could also apply the Raster formats.

Setting the default is part of related #2298 <a class="issue tracker-2 status-5 priority-3 priority- closed" href="https://issues.qgis.org/issues/3175" title="remeber last format choosen in the "add vector dialog" (Closed)">#3175
QGIS Application - Feature request #3128 (Open): support for vertical datumhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/31282010-10-16T22:19:29Zhamish -hamish_b@yahoo.com

Hi,

vertical datum support has recently been added to the trunk versions of most of the PROJ.4/GDAL/libLAS/etc toolchain. it would be great if qgis also could incorporate that newly available metadata, if present. (even if it is just on the layer preferences metadata report tab.

thanks,
Hamish
QGIS Application - Feature request #2767 (Open): Load/Save queries in the Query builderhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/27672010-06-01T05:32:06Zpinux -pinux@foo.bar

Load/Save queries in the Query builder as it is possible for the Search query builder.
QGIS Application - Feature request #2687 (Open): Variable Snapping Marker Sizehttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/26872010-04-30T11:16:09Zsandinog -sandinog@foo.bar

I'd like to see vertex markers, if snapping is set to pixels, be a radius of the number of pixels generally set or set for the layer being edited; and if snapping is by scale distance, be a minimum of three pixels wide, and as a maximum, the radius of the distance set for snapping. So, if you're zoomed wide, the markers would be wide spots on the lines, and if you're zoomed in close, particularly with vertices close together, you could pick a spot where only the vertex you want to affect will be selected.

It would also be nice if the circle could change color when the mouse is within it, so you can tell that snapping is active, working, and your next click will snap to the vertex you want to snap to, and not just where the mouse click occurs, or the wrong vertex.
QGIS Application - Feature request #2525 (Open): Width of field contains cyrillic valueshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/25252010-03-07T10:00:36Zdr -

I'm not sure is it bug or not, but it could throw into confusion some users. When create new vector layer and set its width need keep in mind, that width of field it is size of field in bytes, not in symbols! For example, I create text field and set width=3. I try to fill this field with Cyrillic word 'баг' and when I've save changes in layer I've get the following results:
I guess this is because for encoding cyrillic symbols in utf uses 2 bytes.
QGIS Application - Feature request #2403 (Open): Locale settings not working as it shouldhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/24032010-01-30T03:34:06Zpinux -pinux@foo.bar

In the locale settings it should be possible to choose the language used by the software without changing the locale for the time or number formatting. For example I can choose as language English but the locale for the number and time formatting can remain the system locale (Italian). Also check the bug #2058 for another problems with the locale.
QGIS Application - Feature request #2265 (Open): Add a configuration option for the sensitivity o...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/22652009-12-11T08:32:10Zdr -

Create "For in the field" mode and "For in the office" mode by
defining sets of keyboard shortcuts and other interactive
qgis behavior. The user could create his/her own modes by
modifying these sets.

"For in the field" mode should make minimal use of the mouse.
QGIS Application - Feature request #1813 (Open): Support for WFS with NTLM authenticationhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/18132009-07-28T04:43:36ZMarkus Neteler

Currently, QGIS seems to be unable to connect to WFS servers with NTLM authentication.

We have discovered that the Mapserver project has already implemented such support some time ago. Here the patch with might be helpful for a similar implementation in QGIS:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapserver/ticket/571

Our WFS server address for testing (we can offer the user/password to test an implementation in QGIS if needed):
http://sit.geographics.eu/arcgis/services/CREV/WFS_1/MapServer/WFSServer

Please add some comments for translators where particular string will be used. For some strings it is not possible to distinguish tool names (menu entires) from window titles, tooltips and other help related content.

I.e. "Add a Vector Layer" - it can be an action (menu item), tool tip or window title. In other languages it may be required to translate it differently depending on context. Currently only way to find phrase context is to write in garbage and then run app and look for garbage.
