Redmine QGIS Application - Feature request #21759 (Open): Changing rendering behavior on zoom to prevent ...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/217592019-04-03T18:25:03ZAndrew Annexannex@jhu.edu

On macOS with qgis 3.4.6 LTR. Unknown if this is on other systems

Zooming should disable rendering until the updated map view is completely rendered and then display. Currently with multiple raster and vector layers, with some wms layers, when a zoom event the canvas is cleared to white followed by various layers rendering and popping into view which causes eye strain and is visually distracting.

The behavior I want is closer to what happens when the render checkbox is deselected. The existing canvas should be in view until the new canvas has completely finished rendering and then it should replace the current canvas view on the screen. This behavior should probably be configurable
QGIS Application - Feature request #20550 (Open): Add visualization of invalid geometry Errorhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/205502018-11-19T10:41:58Zrohit singhrohitsinghsalyan@gmail.com

It is very difficult to find the duplicate nodes and edit them to remove the invalid geometry error. During the edit option it should show in different color compared to correct nodes.
QGIS Application - Feature request #20021 (Open): Print Layout missing Page Properties https://issues.qgis.org/issues/200212018-10-05T02:40:42ZLene Fischerlfi@ign.ku.dk

Trying to change page properties in a layout there are no entries from a menu, tab or icon. Only solution is a right click. This is a main action in creating a layout and it has no 'normal' entry.
QGIS Application - Feature request #19804 (Feedback): Change Legend Right to Left Reading in QGIShttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/198042018-09-10T08:26:15ZMostafa ELhalwagymustafa.alhalwagy@gmail.com

As shown in the picture attached, we usually use a color ramp rather than a legend to label a raster DEM layer, so we need a color ramp item that users get a certain gradient symbol based on the selected raster layer. Then users design its aspect(vertical or horizontal), width, height, interval of ticks, number of ticks, and font of number label.
QGIS Application - Feature request #19379 (Open): precision option in vector tools select/join by...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/193792018-07-10T09:45:05ZJan Hendrik Petegem

The precision option in the select/join by location tools has been removed in qgis 3. Will it return in the near future?

I understood this to be due to a bug in the option according to a comment on stackexchange https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/268992/join-attributes-by-location-precision. My experience was at least that when using the option, exact intersects (difference of 0) where excluded from the results and only the not exact intersects but within the set precision where included
( 0 < distance <= precision).

The option is however essential for selecting and joining by location as geometries often don't exactly intersect. This can be due to different reasons like transferring data between different programs with different precisions (8 vs 10 decimals for instance), not snapped drawings and processing data.

Missing this option requires timeconsuming workarounds, like switching between arcgis (where it is possible) and qgis or snapping features before being able to use select/join by location (this is often not a preferred option).

Unfortynately, I cannot offer an idea for the solution. I hope to see the option returing soon.

https://docs.qgis.org/2.18/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/attribute_table.html#id25

If the child layer is a geometryless table then the actual (2.18/3) implementation has no problems.

The example referenced in the manual is about a scenario where the child is a table with geometries, so when the manual says

"The "+" button will add a new feature to the airport layer. And it will assign the new airport to the current region by default." this will effectively add a row in the child table but without the appropriate geometry, because in the relation form the possibility to digitize geometries for new child entries is not implemented.

This leave the data in a inconsistent state and is cause of confusion and data corruption. An similar example bases on geometry postgis tables shows that when saving edits for a new record in the child table, this new record is completely discarded with no message/warning/error whatsoever by QGIS.
QGIS Application - Feature request #18478 (Open): Find and Replace in Layout makerhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/184782018-03-19T07:41:58ZAndrew Shaninhedgestandart@gmail.com

Hi,
I'd like to have ArcMap style clipping feature in QGIS 3.0. There is a plugin (https://github.com/demarcog/Clipper) for QGIS 2.xx, but it does not work for 3.xx.
Basically the clipper cuts all intersecting shapes, like overlaying polygons, with the boundaries of a selected polygon. It also DOES NOT create a new file, like the clip-processing tool currently does in QGIS, but instead it manages to modify the layer itself. So if one layer has 5 polygons that overlap, I select one of the polygons and click "clipper -button", other polygons within the same layer are cut with the boundaries of a selected polygon directly within the layer and it does not even ask you to create a new layer. There is also a merger tool build in QGIS, so this just does the opposite - kind of.
Clipper plugin ( https://github.com/demarcog/Clipper ) had some issues with PostGis functionality. It would be grate if QGIS 3.0 had build in clipper that supports all data formats that are supported by the program itself, including PostGis, Oracle, Shapefile, etc...
QGIS Application - Feature request #17904 (Open): In the layer tree, Clicking an item from a rule...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/179042018-01-20T18:51:00ZHarrissou Santanna

Apply a rule-based style to a layer
In the layer tree, click either a symbol or a value: it opens the symbol selector dialog. While this behavior is coherent with graduated or categorized symbology, i wonder if in this case (at least when clicking the value), it should open the "Edit rule" dialog, offering options to edit the rule and the symbol.
I think this was the earlier behavior (since 2.8) as stated in QGIS docs https://docs.qgis.org/testing/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/vector_properties.html#rule-based-rendering

A seen on the picture, 'item_id' is a variable. That would be very useful to recall another item's position variable (x,y, width, height). This way , in the situation seen on the picture, in the case of two or more attribute tables they could be automatically placed with a query in their position field.
QGIS Application - Feature request #17810 (Open): easy possibility to make non-geometry table to ...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/178102018-01-05T22:50:44ZKepes Ádámkepesadam88@gmail.com

Put the case that i have this kind of delimited text layer file:

SS,OP20,FP21,AR120.00000,ZE90.00000,SD10.0000,--04_ko

After opening it with only as an attribute table, i make a virtual field from "OP20" -> 20 and "FP21" -> 21 point numbers, than I connect them with another table wich contains these point numbers with their coordinates. After that, i would like to make automatic and length-labeled lines between these points, with making it to be a line-geometry layer. At least with a WKT generated virtual self-set virtual field.

I am sure there is an ability to do that now, but it must be a hard way. An easy way for that would be very useful and widely, dynamically usable!
QGIS Application - Feature request #17769 (Open): add feature to open and read spreadsheets as la...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/177692018-01-02T02:15:25ZKepes Ádámkepesadam88@gmail.com

Please consider packaging QGIS as a snap package as it is a universal package and basically a new standard that works on any Linux distribution and it can bundle all dependencies regardless of the ones that come with the distro so you can push the new package to the users that have for ex. older versions of Qt with their distro without it conflicting with the QGIS one.

So there should be one package that works on any distro without any conflicts or distro specific hackery.
