I'm using QGIS Desktop in macOS, the software suggest me to update to a newest version, but It is not available for my platform.
QGIS Plugin Site - Bug report #21715 (Open): Add "Requirements" as optional field in metadata.txthttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/217152019-03-31T16:39:36ZSfkeller -sfkeller@gmail.com

As a user when searching and browsing for a plugin in QGIS extension manager or on the website https://plugins.qgis.org/ , users should be informed before hand about the requirements, dependencies and restrictions of a plugin.

There is currently a newly added text in the "Recommendation" chapter on https://plugins.qgis.org/publish/ to mention requirements, dependencies and restrictions in the About/Description field, if the plugin is running only on selected platforms, requires software to be installed separately or requires some user account.

My suggestion is to add an optional field - perhaps called "requirements" - in metadata.txt, to be filled in by the plugin maintainer. The field entry would be mandatory if there exist such requirements.

Some dependencies and restrictions could even be potentially validated automatically.
QGIS Application - Feature request #21400 (Open): Install with check for operating system (e.g. w...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/214002019-02-26T19:25:57ZRudi Uhlrudi.uhl@foea.de

I was incidentally trying to install a QGIS Standalone Installer Version 3.6 (64 bit) on a 32 bit Win OS, which seemed to work, but gave a restart of the system at the end and left the start menu only with Grass Shortcuts. Starting C:\Program Files\QGIS 3.6\bin\qgis-bin-g7.exe manually finally gave the message that explained everything: wrong OS. It would be perfect if that bit of code could be copied to the install routine, thus preventing user misbehaviour ;-)
Thank you in advance, it's great to watch QGIS growing and getting better all the time!
QGIS Application - Bug report #21130 (Open): "Couldn't load SIP module." with Madeirahttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/211302019-01-30T11:04:38ZBoris D.dessimondboris@gmail.com

I got this problem with both 64 and 32 bits version.
Tried to reinstall SIP.
Tried to install several python packages.
I also use Anaconda.
I searched online and found several similar error, didn't managed to fixed it.

I installed QGIS 3.0.1 and it started without any error. Since I spent already something like 4H trying to get QGIS work, I'll just keep working with version 3.0.1 but I wanted to repport the error?

First Error window :

Windows other than the main QGIS project window display a blank page image on the taskbar instead of the QGIS logo. This happens for anything that opens up a separate window, including attribute tables, print layouts, and processing algorithms.
Hello,
while trying to install plugins (in this case the semi-automatic-classification plugin) for machines in a computer pool (win 10 x64 environment), it was not possible to install plugins for all domain-users respectively as an admin. Is it generally possible? I am not exactly versed in the mechanics of functioning concerning QGIS and it's plugins, but in my growing distress i decided to approach you with this problem. The users have to re-install the plugin every time they access the machine. Do you have any ideas? The version is QGIS 2.18.4.

Thank you very much for your advice,
best regards
QGIS Plugin Site - Bug report #16479 (Open): "None" results in plugin search results on Django sitehttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/164792017-04-28T03:10:20ZTom Chadwintom.chadwin@nnpa.org.uk

Adding the same short_name option on multiple layers is possible.
Accessing that short_name in a GetMap request results in only the first layer that was given that specific short_name to be called.
This could lead to confusion for big projects where by accident people use the same short_name for multiple layers.

How to reproduce:
Use the same short_name for at least two layers.
The GetMap request using the short_name point to the first layer that was given short_name.
QGIS Plugin Site - Feature request #3986 (Open): Support for presenting index.html info about plu...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/39862011-06-14T14:52:03ZChris Crookccrook@linz.govt.nz

It would be good if the repository had a feature of looking for an index.html file in the plugin zip file and providing a link to this if it exists. See

http://www.qgis.org/wiki/Writing_Python_Plugins#Documentation

Two things that make this a bit difficult are
1) Security - there is not control on the contents of the HTML file
2) References - eg references to images within the index.html file.

Maybe there is a better way of meeting the underlying requirement, which is to be able to provide more comprehensive information about the plugin without installing it.
QGIS Application - Feature request #3683 (Open): Composer legend items inherit label font settingshttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/36832011-03-27T18:36:34ZJohn Tull

It would be nice for items in the composer legend to inherit the font properties that are used in the map canvas. This could be optional, perhaps a check item in the legend options. E.g., a point layer might have ng labels with Helvetica font size 10, italics, and purple with a yellow buffer in the map canvas. The legend item for that layer would also be size 10, italics, Helvetica and purple with a yellow buffer.
QGIS Plugin Site - Feature request #23 (Open): Add an option "Create a bugtracker"https://issues.qgis.org/issues/232011-03-08T22:46:40ZPaolo Cavallinicavallini@faunalia.it

On uploading a plugin, the author should be presented with the option of automatically create a bugtracker instance for it. This could be compulsory, or at least strongly recommended.
QGIS Application - Feature request #3208 (Open): exclude proxyes based on suffixhttps://issues.qgis.org/issues/32082010-11-13T12:54:40ZPaolo Cavallinicavallini@faunalia.it

Currently proxies can be excluded on a case by case basis, and groups of addresses can be reached directly. The criterion for exclusion seems however based on the first characters (myurl*). It would seem very useful to have the possibility of defining addresses based on the last characters (*myurl.it).
QGIS Application - Feature request #2786 (Open): Live GPS tracking: add support for garmin USB de...https://issues.qgis.org/issues/27862010-06-04T10:00:21Zdr -

Currently, QGIS seems to be unable to connect to WFS servers with NTLM authentication.

We have discovered that the Mapserver project has already implemented such support some time ago. Here the patch with might be helpful for a similar implementation in QGIS:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapserver/ticket/571
